Carnival Internet UK launches with eco pledges & fair pricing

Yesterday

Carnival Internet UK has launched its broadband service in the UK. It offers full-fibre broadband and emphasises customer loyalty and environmental initiatives.

The service advertises ultra-reliable, high-speed internet access without hidden fees or mid-contract annual price increases, aiming to challenge longstanding industry practices such as the "loyalty tax," where existing customers pay more than new ones for the same service.

Carnival Internet UK offers the same rates to both new and existing customers, with broadband packages available at speeds ranging from 100Mbps to 900Mbps. Customers can choose between two routers and benefit from full-fibre connections designed for busy families and professionals.

Broadband is delivered using eero mesh Wi-Fi technology, which incorporates TrueMesh, TrueRoam, and TrueChannel features. The company's 'Max' plans include the eero Max 7 router, which supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard to meet the needs of high-demand households or home offices.

All plans include eero Plus security features as standard. These include content filtering, malware and ad blocking, and internet scheduling tools to help families create safer and more controlled online environments.

Carnival Internet UK also offers what has become the industry-standard One Touch Switching process, designed to remove hassle from switching providers and streamline setup for new customers.

Olly Sedden, Director of Product, Commercial and Marketing at Dotlines UK, which is behind the Carnival Internet UK launch, commented, "We believe the broadband industry has long neglected its responsibility to loyal customers and the planet. Carnival Internet's launch comes at a time when the industry is under scrutiny for rising prices and poor service."

"By combining sustainability, fairness, and high-performance technology, we hope to lead by example and reshape how broadband providers operate in the UK. Our goal is to build a happy customer community by delivering brilliant, highly automated, and effortless customer experiences – putting people and the planet first."

A key aspect of Carnival Internet UK's proposition is its environmental commitment. The company pledges to plant one tree or kelp plant for every month a customer remains with the service, aiming to plant one million within its first five years of operation. This effort is being undertaken in partnership with Carma, a specialist organisation in biodiversity and reforestation projects. All planting contributions will be made visible to customers via an online dashboard to ensure full transparency.

The company has also committed to donating 1% of all customer bills to UK charities that work to address digital poverty. This initiative seeks to support people and communities who lack access to reliable internet services.

"We are dedicated to leading the way in sustainable and socially responsible business practices. Our commitment to rewarding customer loyalty, fighting digital poverty and investing in biodiversity projects reflects our belief that companies must do more than just provide great services; they must give back to the customers, communities and the planet they serve. At Carnival Internet UK, we're determined to make a positive impact while delivering the best broadband experience possible," Olly Sedden said.
