Thu, 10th Apr 2025

CyrusOne has appointed James Miller as Senior Director of Site Acquisition, Europe.

In his new role, James Miller will oversee the acquisition of data centre sites suitable for development across Europe. He is tasked with managing the strategic and collaborative projects required to facilitate these developments.

"We are at a pivotal moment in our sector and CyrusOne is well placed to provide world-class services to further cement its position as a leading provider," says James. "As the head of the site acquisition function in Europe, I am committed to working collaboratively with our partners across the continent. Our focus will be to enhance our projects with innovation, and creativity, essential for securing robust site development in this competitive and challenging market."

James joins CyrusOne after his tenure at Microsoft, where he was a Senior Site Acquisition Manager. His role included strategising, negotiating, and executing leases in significant European markets, notably London and Dublin. He was instrumental in securing leases that facilitated new region launches in Madrid and Milan.

Before his work at Microsoft, James was a member of the Corporate and Specialist Valuation team at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). In this capacity, he contributed valuation and transaction consultancy advice across various asset classes, such as data centres and wind farms, offering his expertise to lenders, private equity sponsors, and operators.

Matthew Pullen, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Europe at CyrusOne stated, "We are delighted to welcome James to the CyrusOne team. James will bring a wealth of experience from his tenure at Microsoft and his work across multiple jurisdictions, enabling him to hit the ground running. His insights into customer pain points will enhance our product development and customer experience strategies, allowing us to make impactful improvements. James will join us at a challenging period with the data center sector in Europe facing barriers in accessing power at scale."
