E2e-assure sees surge in UK-sovereign OT security demand
E2e-assure has reported an uptick in demand for UK-sovereign cyber security services, citing 18 new customers and several million in additional revenue as regulated organisations reassess operational risk.
The Abingdon-based SOC-as-a-service provider said the shift links to geopolitical tensions and tighter regulatory scrutiny. The company said critical national infrastructure operators and other regulated organisations now place greater weight on sovereignty and on-premise deployment requirements.
E2e-assure has hired Richard Groome as OT Sales Specialist. The company said he will focus on business growth tied to Operational Technology environments, where security programmes often run alongside established engineering practices and long asset lifecycles.
Sovereign demand
The company said regulatory complexity has increased in environments that fall under national security and resilience expectations. It described demand for specialists that can meet sovereignty requirements and deliver on-premise options.
E2e-assure provides a UK-based Security Operations Centre service and said it works with government and critical national infrastructure organisations. It also offers a SOC platform called CUMULO, which it said integrates with existing security tools used by customers.
Industry interest in OT security has risen as organisations connect plant networks, industrial control systems, and monitoring platforms to broader IT estates. That trend has expanded the range of threats that security teams need to manage, including risks associated with remote access, third-party connections, and older equipment that cannot easily be patched.
E2e-assure positioned Groome’s appointment as a response to this market shift. The company said he has worked across industrial, automotive, and critical infrastructure organisations.
“OT security has become a board-level priority, and organisations need a partner they can truly trust,” said Richard, OT Sales Specialist at e2e-assure. “e2e-assure's deep threat detection expertise and UK-sovereign SOC uniquely position it to protect critical operations, and I'm excited to help customers strengthen resilience, detect threats early, and secure the systems that keep the UK running.”
OT and IT
E2e-assure said many organisations now want a single provider that understands both OT and IT risk. The company framed this as a gap in the market, particularly where regulated operators require assurance around data location, access controls, and incident response processes.
Rob Demain, Chief Executive Officer at e2e-assure, said Groome will work with customers that are expanding OT security activity alongside existing IT security programmes.
“Richard is particularly well-placed to help e2e-assure nurture our relationships with customers that are waking up to the need to secure their OT as well as IT environments”, said Rob Demain, CEO of e2e-assure, commenting on Richard's appointment. “Many UK manufacturers and critical national infrastructure operators struggle to find a trusted partner that can operate at their pace, speak their language, and meet sovereign and regulator requirements. Richard's experience will help bridge the gap between technical capability and commercial reality, ensuring customers see measurable value and long-term assurance.”
The company said it has worked with regulated customers for more than a decade. It described its Security Operations Centre as staffed by UK-based security professionals with vetting and clearance. It also said it offers 24/7/365 monitoring and response.
Product direction
E2e-assure said Groome’s appointment links to a set of developments it plans across 2026. It said the business will enhance its ability to support OT security over the next 12 months.
The company also said it will address what it described as an imbalance between attackers’ and defenders’ use of AI. It highlighted constraints in regulated environments and on-premise technologies as areas of focus.
E2e-assure said customer delivery and satisfaction will remain a priority as it scales. It reported a 95% customer retention rate and an average 88+ NPS score.
Groome said OT security has reached senior management agendas. “OT security has become a board-level priority, and organisations need a partner they can truly trust,” said Groome.
