M Group Services has appointed Archie Norman as its new non-executive Chairman.
Archie Norman is an experienced chairman and board director with a significant background in leading British businesses. His past roles include Chief Executive and Chairman of Asda, Chairman of Marks and Spencer, and Chairman of ITV. He has also worked as a management consultant with McKinsey. In the infrastructure sector, he has served as a director at Railtrack and as chairman of telecommunications business Energis.
In addition to his corporate roles, Norman has a political background, having served as the Member of Parliament for Tunbridge Wells for eight years and as Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions. He co-founded the think tank Policy Exchange and served as the lead non-executive board member at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy for four years until 2020.
