Northamber acquires Nuvias UC hardware unit for GBP £7.1 million
Nuvias UC has agreed to sell its hardware business to Northamber in a transaction valued at GBP £7.1 million. The move positions Northamber to strengthen its audio-visual (AV) and unified communications (UC) offering, whilst allowing the remaining Nuvias UC operations to consolidate under the Konekt brand and focus exclusively on cloud communications software and services.
Strategic realignment
The divestment will see all of Nuvias UC's software and service activities operate under the Konekt brand, streamlining the company's operations and strategic priorities within the European cloud communications sector. Konekt has reported annual gross invoiced income of GBP £40 million, with a customer base of more than 400 organisations across Europe and a reported growth rate exceeding 25 per cent annually.
Market context
Industry forecasts predict continued double-digit growth in the cloud communications sector. Mordor Intelligence projects the global Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) market will exceed USD $175 billion by 2030, achieving a 25.4% compound annual growth rate. According to Gartner, worldwide spending on public cloud services is forecast to surpass USD $723 billion by 2025, with all segments of the market expected to contribute significant growth.
Operational plans
Konekt will exit all remaining hardware activity across Europe before the end of the current financial year. The company has stated that the transition will be implemented in a coordinated manner to maintain continuity for existing partners and vendors. Konekt will retain its operational presence in the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands, and concentrate on its integrated software platforms and a four-stage service delivery model comprising Discovery, Implementation, Maintenance, and Adoption.
Acquisition rationale
Northamber acquires Nuvias UC's hardware division and its specialist team. This addition is expected to complement Northamber's current capabilities in AV and UC technologies and support the group's plans for expansion in the intelligent workplace market.
"We are delighted to welcome Nuvias UC's hardware business and its highly specialist team into the Northamber Group. Their expertise and strong heritage in UC and AV complement our existing portfolio, strengthening our capabilities across the intelligent workplace. This addition broadens our reach and accelerates our growth in one of the fastest-evolving technology markets, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our partners," said Alex Phillips, Chairman, Northamber.
Cloud focus
The revised structure enables Konekt to accelerate investment in the cloud platform segment. Konekt is set to continue providing distribution for cloud communication platforms, related software, and services, and will emphasise technical expertise and a focused vendor set as a differentiator for its channel partners.
"This strategic pivot allows us to deepen our expertise in cloud communications platforms and services where our partners need specialist support most," said Joel Chimoindes, CEO, Konekt.
Konekt will maintain its involvement with channel partners, focusing on vendor ecosystems such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, to support them in extending service delivery and technical capabilities.
"For Konekt and our partners, this is a moment to move boldly. We're not just expanding our portfolio, we're sharpening our focus, investing in technical depth, and building the kind of service ecosystem that helps partners win more, deliver faster, and grow sustainably. We're energised by what's ahead," said Chimoindes.
