Westcon-Comstor adds Stratus to vendor list, boosts IoT division
Westcon-Comstor, a technology distributor, has announced the addition of Stratus Technologies to its vendor portfolio. The distribution agreement will encompass Stratus solutions such as Stratus ztC Edge and Stratus ztC Endurance, targeting channel partners across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Stratus Technologies specialises in high-availability, fault-tolerant computing for both Fortune 500 companies and small-to-medium-sized enterprises. Its platforms enable the secure and remote operation of mission-critical applications with minimal downtime, transforming data into actionable insights.
Antony Byford, Vice President of IoT & Collaboration at Westcon-Comstor, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "This exciting new partnership with Stratus is the perfect way to mark the arrival of our new, solution-focused IoT division," he said. "The rise of IoT, smart devices, and the need for real-time data processing are propelling the growth of the edge computing market. Stratus is an edge player that ensures the continuous availability of business-critical applications by delivering zero-touch computing platforms with an unmatched availability of up to 99.99999%."
Westcon-Comstor's new IoT division aims to unlock the potential of IoT and intelligent edge technologies for its partners. The initiative will focus on enabling technology resellers, systems integrators, and service providers to deliver scalable and secure IoT applications. The division consolidates Westcon's existing IoT capabilities and relationships with other vendors into a cohesive market offering. Current vendors active in the IoT space include Palo Alto Networks, Nokia, Claroty, and F5.
Greg Hookings, EMEA Managing Director of Stratus, echoed the sentiment. "Westcon-Comstor's IoT team is actively addressing the critical need for reliable and manageable IoT solutions as customers focus on becoming digital first and digital native businesses. Partners and customers across a wide range of industries have deployed Stratus high availability and fault-tolerant platforms to optimise performance and protect critical workloads. With Westcon and its partners, we are reducing the complexity and risk of deploying compute infrastructure that rapidly modernises operations and readies environments for advanced software, analytics, and AI."
The partnership aims to drive the adoption of Stratus solutions by end-users while offering growth opportunities for channel partners in the EMEA region. IoT ecosystem investments are projected to exceed USD $1 trillion by 2026, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.4% from 2023 to 2027, according to market analysis firm IDC.
Westcon-Comstor plans to leverage its existing vendor portfolio and newly onboarded vendors like Stratus to empower its partners. The company aims to enable recurring revenue streams around essential technologies in the IoT ecosystem, ranging from security and analytics to edge computing and connectivity.
