AETA joins TCCA to boost critical audio communications

Wed, 25th Mar 2026

AETA Audio Systems has joined TCCA, bringing the French audio transmission supplier into the global critical communications association.

AETA serves professional users with audio-over-IP devices for broadcast applications including live reporting, sports commentary and remote production. It also develops applications for police surveillance, industrial monitoring and public transport.

TCCA is a member-led industry body focused on the critical communications market. Its members include end users, operators and suppliers, and it works on standards for critical broadband and the TETRA professional mobile radio standard.

Based in France, AETA operates through an international distribution network. The company has been active since 1978 and produces audio and IP codecs, along with remote access tools and call-management systems used to supervise communications networks with multiple resources.

Critical audio

AETA's products are aimed at users that need reliable audio transmission in demanding settings. In broadcast, that includes field reporting and remote production. In other sectors, it covers operational environments where speech intelligibility can affect decision-making.

The company also highlighted 5G support across its product portfolio. It uses the technology for wireless audio transport, with the aim of improving bandwidth, latency and network stability in crowded or high-traffic environments.

AETA said theoretical speeds of up to 100 Gbps can help reduce congestion risks and lessen the need for more complex network configurations, leading to faster set-up times and more stable connections.

Yann Vonarburg, Managing Director of AETA Audio Systems, commented on the membership decision.

"We are pleased to join TCCA in order to extend our knowledge of critical communications applications and to share our knowledge and experience. We hope that our membership will be beneficial for the community of TCCA members as well as for our company," said Yann Vonarburg, Managing Director, AETA Audio Systems.

Standards work

For TCCA, the addition broadens its membership with a company rooted in broadcast audio but also active in adjacent operational uses. The association has sought to bring together organisations involved in secure and standardised communications technologies for professional users.

TCCA acts as the 3GPP Market Representation Partner for critical communications. Its members also contribute to 3GPP working groups and take part in related industry testing tied to critical broadband, rail and mission-critical communications standards.

Kevin Graham, Chief Executive Officer of TCCA, said the group saw a close fit between AETA's work in broadcast audio and the requirements of critical communications users.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome the AETA team to our global membership," said Kevin Graham, Chief Executive Officer, TCCA. "AETA has a history of bringing innovative solutions to the broadcast sector and we look forward to them extending their expertise to include critical sector solutions where clear audio is crucial."

The membership highlights how suppliers with roots in media and broadcast technology are seeking a larger role in operational communications markets. Audio quality, low delay and network resilience remain central in sectors including transport, public safety and industrial operations, where users often need speech links to perform in difficult network conditions.

AETA said its product range is designed for professional users across different operating conditions, with a focus on audio transmission and communications systems that are simple to deploy and secure to use. The company continues to market codecs and network management tools for users that require consistent audio links across distributed communications environments.
