AVK has announced the launch of the AVK Academy, a new training initiative aimed at developing data centre engineers.

Located in Lenham, Kent, the AVK Academy has been established as a centre of excellence dedicated to providing practical training and professional development for engineers at various career stages. The facility is equipped with the latest technology, including Rolls-Royce mtu engines and control system rigs, offering trainees real-world experience in power generation.

The data centre industry is undergoing rapid transformation, with increased demands for efficient and sustainable solutions. The AVK Academy aims to address these challenges by training professionals who can uphold high industry standards. The Academy's structured training programmes are tailored to diverse experience levels, catering to beginners as well as seasoned engineers seeking to advance their skills.

A key aspect of the Academy's approach is its emphasis on hands-on learning. Trainees engage with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, gaining insights into the complexities of power generation. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with practical exercises, preparing participants for various challenges they may encounter in the field. This method not only enhances technical expertise but also provides a comprehensive understanding of the power generation sector.

The Academy also offers an entry point for newcomers to the industry through its Level 4 intake, which provides foundational training and mentorship. Besides technical skills, this programme highlights the importance of safety, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are highly valued in the industry. Participants receive a holistic education that equips them for a long-term career with potential for growth.

Lynsey Partlow, AVK Service Director, stated, "The AVK Academy is more than just a training facility - it represents a strategic investment in the future of our company and the industry, and serves as a powerful tool for attracting new talent to the industry."

Partlow continued, "By nurturing talent within a controlled, supportive environment, we are helping to build a pipeline of skilled professionals who will drive innovation in power generation and creating a clear pathway for education and career development - making the power generation field more accessible and appealing to a diverse range of aspiring professionals."

Ben Pritchard, Chief Executive Officer of AVK, added, "The AVK Academy initiative aligns with our broader mission to deliver innovative and sustainable power solutions that meet the needs of our customers, everywhere. By equipping our engineers with the skills and knowledge they need at a time of unprecedented industry growth, we are strengthening our ability to provide reliable, cutting-edge services and creating a culture of continuous learning and development that permeates every level of our organisation."

The AVK Academy is a crucial component of AVK's strategy to foster growth, innovation, and excellence, ensuring the company maintains a leading position in the power generation industry.
