Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sets EE traffic record

Yesterday

The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has generated the largest gaming traffic ever recorded on the EE and BT home broadband network for a video game launch.

The most significant spike in download traffic was noted on Monday, October 21st when the game was initially made available for preload. This year marks the first time the Call of Duty series has been available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, resulting in a 144% increase in Xbox Live traffic on the EE/BT home broadband network compared to the previous week.

Sam Kemp, Director of Gaming at EE, stated, "As an official partner of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, fans downloading the game during this year's launch period have driven a record amount of gaming traffic on our network. Our home broadband service is primed for gamers – with low latency and great reliability. We also offer ultrafast full fibre speeds, advanced in-home gaming controls and the latest Wi-Fi 7 hub technology with our Broadband Made for Gamers bundle – so gamers on EE can rest assured they'll get the very best possible Call of Duty experience."

Coinciding with the launch, EE has released a new series of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gaming bundles. These bundles feature exclusive in-game items, including the Hella Chill operator skin, 90s Chic calling card, Coin Operated weapon charm, and Arcade Avenger emblem. Customers can redeem these items by texting 'BLACKOPS6' to 150.

The newly available gaming bundles include PlayStation 5 Slim and Xbox options. The PlayStation 5 Slim bundle includes a physical copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (Cross-Gen Edition), available for GBP £10 upfront, with a monthly GBP £48 for 11 months. Alternatively, a monthly plan costs GBP £30 for 24 months, which saves customers GBP £345, including the EE Gamer and Video Data Pass and a two-year PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.

For Xbox platforms, bundles include the Xbox Series X with a physical copy of the game at GBP £15 upfront and GBP £48 per month for 11 months. The Xbox Series S 1TB Digital Edition and the Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition bundles both provide digital editions of the game via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, priced at GBP £10 upfront and GBP £21 and GBP £29 monthly respectively, for 24 months, resulting in savings of GBP £380 and GBP £559.

These Xbox bundles include a GBP £70 Game Card voucher, allowing customers to upgrade their Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Cross-Gen Edition to the Vault Edition. EE offers an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription starting at GBP £12 as a standalone product, providing access to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 alongside other games within the Game Pass Ultimate library.
