Targa Telematics & Jurni boost fleet data insights
Thu, 5th Nov 2026 (Today)
Targa Telematics has partnered with Jurni Leasing in a deal that will add vehicle manufacturer data to Jurni's fleet management platform.
The partnership is designed to support Jurni's 31,000 customers, including SME fleets and a dedicated fleet of around 3,000 school minibuses.
Under the arrangement, Targa Telematics will use its automotive partner network to feed original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, data into Jurni 360, the leasing group's fleet management platform. Jurni 360 combines vehicle, driver and fleet information in a single system, and the additional data is expected to give fleet managers a broader view of maintenance, vehicle condition and day-to-day operations.
For Jurni, one of the UK's larger independent vehicle leasing and fleet management specialists, the move adds a third-party telematics data source to a platform used by businesses managing a range of vehicle types, from small commercial fleets and larger corporate fleets to school transport vehicles.
Targa's automotive partner network covers more than 45 car brands. That breadth of manufacturer connections is central to the tie-up, as leasing and fleet businesses often manage mixed fleets made up of vehicles from several marques.
Maintenance focus
A key part of the agreement centres on Service, Maintenance and Repair. Access to connected vehicle data and AI-based analysis is expected to help fleet operators spot emerging issues earlier, schedule servicing on time and reduce the risk of avoidable breakdowns.
It could also support compliance tasks linked to maintenance, including warranty requirements and mileage monitoring. These areas have become more important as businesses try to keep vehicles in service longer while limiting disruption and administrative workload.
The system is also intended to help users identify patterns and prioritise tasks. In practice, this should allow fleet managers to decide more quickly which vehicles need attention first and where to focus workshop bookings or inspections.
The deal reflects a broader shift in fleet management towards using manufacturer-generated data rather than relying solely on separate aftermarket devices or manual reporting. Information generated directly by the vehicle can improve visibility of usage, faults and servicing needs, particularly in fleets with many different brands and models.
Targa has been building its position in the vehicle leasing and rental market, where data integration has become a competitive issue for providers serving customers that want a single view of mixed fleets. It cites Berg Insight figures showing 979,000 active telematics systems in the European rental and leasing market.
Executive comments
Chris Horbowyj, UK Commercial Director at Targa Telematics, said: "We are thrilled to work alongside Jurni Leasing as it continues to develop its fleet management offering. Capitalising on our unparalleled ability to analyse, process and integrate vast amounts of vehicle-generated data to deliver actionable insights and measurable business outcomes, we will help Jurni Leasing take its services to the next level. Together, we are focused on championing the shift to proactive fleet management to improve fleet health, reduce vehicle downtime and elevate customer experience."
Jurni said the additional data should deepen the information available through its existing platform and simplify oversight for customers running different types of fleets.
"Targa Telematics' proven expertise in bringing together rich, detailed vehicle data from a wide range of manufacturers makes it an ideal partner for Jurni. The breadth and depth of this data will further enhance our fleet management platform, providing customers with greater visibility of their vehicles and richer insights to support better-informed decisions. This partnership is an important step in the continued development of our fleet management offering, helping customers take a more proactive approach to managing their vehicles, reduce administration and improve operational efficiency. Whether managing small or corporate vehicle fleets, or multiple school minibuses, our aim is to make fleet management simpler and more effective," said Fitzgerald.
The partnership brings together a fleet management provider and a telematics specialist with operations across several European markets and Chile. It also highlights how connected vehicle data is becoming more closely tied to everyday leasing, maintenance and compliance work for fleet operators.
