Vertiv has announced a collaboration with Oxigen to design and implement Oxigen's largest data centre in Spain.
Oxigen's new data centre, which is their second and largest, is located in Sant Cugat del Vallès and spans 6,000 square metres. This includes a 3,000 square metre operations clean room, and it is equipped to support up to 800 racks with diverse power and customisation options.
The facility has been developed in accordance with the Uptime Institute's Tier III criteria, ensuring it meets high standards of availability and redundancy, thereby enhancing its resilience and connectivity. While only part of the available space is currently in use, the design enables rapid adaptation to meet future growth and demand, such as the evolving needs of artificial intelligence projects.
Vertiv's contributions to the project include the supply of key technologies and software. The high-performance Vertiv Liebert AFC chiller and Vertiv Liebert CRV provide precise cooling solutions, crucial for keeping the facility operational under demanding conditions.
The Vertiv Powerbar iMPB busbar systems enable flexible and scalable power distribution to the equipment racks, ensuring the centre can efficiently manage its energy use.
Vertiv has also installed the Vertiv Critical Insight software, which allows for real-time monitoring of the data centre. This vendor-agnostic tool helps authorised staff visualise operations, monitor system conditions, and receive trend analysis and equipment recommendations, facilitating effective and timely response by staff either on-site or remotely.
The data centre is designed for energy efficiency, sourcing power from 100% renewable resources, which is expected to yield cost savings for Oxigen.

With a total power capacity of 6MW and up to 20 kW per rack, the facility is set to serve various sectors including pharmaceutical, industrial, technological, education, and public sectors, meeting their requirements for continuous uptime and significant processing capability.
