Vertiv unveils PowerUPS 200 range for homes & SMEs
Vertiv has launched a new compact uninterruptible power supply range in the Europe, the Middle East and Africa region, targeting personal devices and small business equipment used in homes, offices and retail sites.
The Vertiv PowerUPS 200 family covers 600 to 2200 VA capacities. Vertiv positions the products for workstations, point-of-sale systems, gaming consoles, smart devices and home entertainment equipment.
The company said the series expands its single-phase UPS portfolio for home, office and retail environments across EMEA.
"As digital demand accelerates, users are increasingly looking for reliable power solutions, without operational complexity," said Giuseppe Leto, Senior Director, IT Systems for Vertiv in EMEA. "The Vertiv PowerUPS 200 family combines solid engineering expertise with an intuitive design tailored for the modern spaces where people live and work today."
Two variants
Vertiv has segmented its latest range into two distinct offerings: the Vertiv PowerUPS 200 Essential and the Vertiv PowerUPS 200 Standard Line Interactive Series. Both product lines operate at 230 V and reflect a core focus on user-friendliness, specifically through the inclusion of user-replaceable batteries designed to extend the overall lifespan of the units.
While they share these functional foundations, the primary distinction lies in the user interface; the Essential models utilise runtime LED indicators, whereas the Standard models feature a more advanced colour LCD display.
For the higher-capacity units, Vertiv has confirmed that PowerUPS 200 models of 1000VA and above are equipped with both Type-A and Type-C USB charging ports to accommodate mobile and connected devices. The hardware design also incorporates a dedicated mute button for streamlined alarm management. Furthermore, in an effort to improve sustainability, the company has committed to using recyclable packaging across the entire range.
Voltage stability
Vertiv has confirmed that the units feature automatic voltage regulation, a function designed to maintain a stable output even during periods of voltage instability.
According to the company, the internal architecture has been optimised to ensure consistent performance across a broad voltage range, although specific tolerances and efficiency ratings have not been disclosed.
Both the Essential and Standard lines offer various configurations with up to eight outlets, depending on the specific model chosen. Vertiv characterised the units as having a compact footprint, specifically tailored to suit the requirements of modern workspaces.
Warranty terms
Vertiv has established distinct warranty periods for the two product lines, providing the Essential Series with a two-year warranty and the Standard Series with a more extensive three-year warranty.
The company confirmed that both of these warranty packages include full coverage for the batteries, ensuring long-term support for the critical components of each unit.
Broader portfolio
Vertiv said the PowerUPS 200 Series renews its single-phase desktop portfolio for home, office and small IT environments.
Vertiv also linked the new products with other network UPS models in its catalogue. It referenced Vertiv Edge Line-Interactive UPS and Vertiv Liebert GXT5 UPS.
The company sells power and cooling infrastructure for data centres and communications networks, alongside products aimed at edge and on-premises deployments. The expansion of desktop UPS systems comes as many organisations and home users rely on connected devices and local network equipment for work and commerce.
"The Vertiv PowerUPS 200 family combines solid engineering expertise with an intuitive design tailored for the modern spaces where people live and work today," said Leto.
