Wialon & Teltonika hit one million vehicles worldwide

Wialon and Teltonika have connected their one millionth vehicle worldwide, a milestone spanning fleets in more than 160 countries.
The figure reflects the scale of a long-running partnership between the two Lithuanian telematics businesses, whose products are used across freight, delivery, utility and shared mobility fleets. Wialon is the fleet telematics and IoT software platform developed by Gurtam, while Teltonika makes GPS tracking and IoT devices for vehicles and other mobile assets.
According to the companies, the one million connected vehicles travel a combined 67 million kilometres each day and consume about 10 million litres of fuel. They estimate that telematics can reduce unnecessary mileage and idling by about 10% on average.
Based on those calculations, that would amount to potential daily savings of roughly 1 million litres of fuel and 2,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions across the installed base. The figures show how telematics providers are increasingly positioning fleet software and hardware not only as operational tools, but also as part of efforts to cut fuel use and emissions.
Long Partnership
The relationship began in 2008, when early Teltonika devices were first connected to Wialon software. Since then, more than 100 Teltonika models have been integrated with the Wialon platform. Teltonika has also ranked as the GPS manufacturer with the highest number of installed devices in the Wialon ecosystem for four consecutive years.
Wialon says its platform supports more than 4,100 hardware models from over 700 manufacturers. That suggests Teltonika's share of installations has been earned in a system that also works with rival hardware suppliers, rather than through an exclusive arrangement.
Across its broader network, Wialon says it helps more than 2,700 channel partners track and manage over 4 million vehicles in more than 160 countries. Teltonika says it has offices in 27 countries and more than 10,000 channel partners.
Global Use
The companies highlighted several projects to show how Wialon software and Teltonika devices are used in different markets. In Spain, the technology has been used by postal operator Correos for tracking and fleet management across more than 600 vehicles handling domestic and international mail and parcel deliveries.
In the United Arab Emirates, Transcorp International has used the systems for last-mile delivery planning, fuel control, temperature and humidity monitoring, and driver and vehicle allocation in cold chain logistics. The company handles more than 15,000 deliveries a day for customers including Amazon and Carrefour.
Another deployment involved the digitalisation of more than 500 utility vehicles in Belgrade, where the tools were used in a smart city fleet project. The examples show how telematics is now used beyond conventional haulage, including in municipal services, refrigerated transport and car sharing.
European Position
The milestone also highlights the growing presence of European suppliers in a market often associated with US software groups and Asian manufacturing. Lithuania has built a notable position in telematics through companies that combine software development, device manufacturing and channel-based international distribution.
For Wialon, the announcement comes as fleet operators face pressure to improve asset visibility, control fuel use and manage mixed fleets across multiple countries. For hardware makers such as Teltonika, broad compatibility with software platforms remains central to winning large-scale deployments through resellers and service providers.
Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon, described Teltonika as one of the most widely adopted device suppliers on the platform and stressed Wialon's broader approach to hardware integration.
"Wialon is a hardware-agnostic software platform, which means it doesn't lock partners into specific devices. Instead, it supports more than 4,100 models from over 700 manufacturers, giving service providers and fleet owners the freedom to choose the hardware that best fits their projects. Teltonika has consistently been one of the most popular manufacturers of tracking devices, preferred and chosen by channel partners and by fleet owners across the world. We are incredibly proud of our enduring partnership, joint innovation, and parallel stories of global success," said Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon.
Teltonika described the one million-vehicle mark as evidence of the commercial depth of the relationship between the two Lithuanian groups.
"Every successful partnership is built on one essential foundation: trust. Not only products, not contracts, and not numbers, but the confidence that both sides are committed to creating lasting value together. With Wialon, we share the same long-term vision: to support companies with reliable technology, strong expertise, and solutions that help them grow. This is not just a hardware milestone, it means 1 million ways in which technology helps remove complexity, improve efficiency, and solve everyday challenges for our business partners around the world," said Mališauskas.
