Data centre provider maincubes has disclosed the high-profile appointment of Zahl Limbuwala as Executive Chairman of its Advisory Board. This move signals maincubes' acceleration in growth ambitions, with an investment of over 1 billion earmarked for constructing new data centres over the next few years.

The goal is to cement maincubes' positioning as a leading player in the European data centre sector. Based in Frankfurt, the firm fully intends to seize upon the rising demand for sophisticated digital infrastructure.

Limbuwala brings more than three decades worth of invaluable industry experience to his new role, being recently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of AtlasEdge Data Centres, a significant operator within Europe’s edge data centre infrastructure. His previous responsibilities included managing strategy and strategic client engagement at the data centre business unit of CBRE, which oversaw more than 500 global data centres. Presently, Limbuwala is an Operating Partner at DTCP, the majority owner of maincubes.

In his capacity as Executive Chairman, Limbuwala's priority will be to bolster maincubes and its managerial team during this period of significant scaling to meet soaring client requirements. His role will also enable maincube to leverage access to his extensive global networking capabilities, helping the firm to strengthen its international business.

Oliver Menzel, CEO of maincubes, has warmly welcomed Limbuwala's appointment, stating "His experience in digital infrastructure and technology with his profound industry knowledge and entrepreneurial background make him an ideal fit as Executive Chairman." Menzel has full confidence that Limbuwala's input will "further strengthen our market position, helping us to establish ourselves as a leading platform for data center services in Europe."

Continuing to grow, maincubes operates high-security data centres in Frankfurt and Amsterdam, with plans to unveil further facilities, including in Berlin, over the next year.

Limbuwala himself is looking forward to his new responsibilities at maincubes, stating "I am convinced that maincubes' modern, highly secure data centres, will benefit significantly from the increasing need for digital infrastructure due to the emergence of AI applications driving unimaginable demand for data centre capacity." He added, "I look forward to supporting Oliver and his team and contributing to the success of maincubes."

Emphasizing the importance of maincubes’ mission, Limbuwala believes the firm's modern, secure and sustainable data centres are well-positioned to take advantage of the high demand driven by the increasing need for reliable digital infrastructure fueled by the emergence of AI applications.
