Enea earns VMware certification for 5G traffic management
Enea, a telecom software company, has received certification from VMWare for its traffic management products, specifically for the telco cloud. The certification encompasses Enea's dual-mode 5G Service Engine (5G-SE), positioning it as "VMware Ready for Telco Cloud," a label that signifies extensive conformance testing and excellent compatibility.
Osvaldo Aldao, Enea's Chief Product and Technology Officer, stated, "Combining the Enea 5G Service Engine with the VMware Telco Cloud Platform offers significant advantages for CSPs, enabling a smooth transition from 4G and 5G NSA to 5G SA while ensuring best-in-class network performance and monetisation services."
The certification marks the next phase in the partnership between Enea and VMWare, which now acknowledges Enea's 5G-SE Container Network Function (CNF) readiness for scalable carrier-grade deployment. This development focuses on agile lifecycle operations with the VMware Telco Cloud Platform, a key aspect of modern telecommunications infrastructure.
Sidd Chenumolu, Head of Product Management for the Software-Defined Edge Division at Broadcom, commented, "VMware Telco Cloud's goal is software transformation of the telco network, delivering telco at cloud native speed. The Enea 5G Service Engine is an essential element of transformation for mobile telecom enabling the delivery services to manage and improve subscriber experience across both 4G and 5G access paths. We are excited to add Enea 5G-SE to our Telco Cloud Marketplace."
Enea's 5G-SE solution is designed to help Communication Service Providers (CSPs) manage network capacity, improve subscribers' quality of experience (QoE) through faster download speeds, and protect customers from fraud. Additionally, the solution enables CSPs to monetise data traffic and adhere to regulatory requirements through a combined 5G-4G single service platform.
The VMware Ready for Telco Cloud certification ensures that solutions like Enea's 5G-SE can seamlessly integrate and perform optimally within VMware's Telco Cloud Platform. This certification is crucial for CSPs seeking to implement and optimise their network infrastructure as they transition to 5G standalone (SA) from 4G and 5G non-standalone (NSA) setups.
The certification reflects significant testing and validation that assures customers of the solution's reliability and performance within VMWare's ecosystem. This is particularly important as telecom networks worldwide transform to meet the demands of 5G technology and service delivery.
Both Enea and VMWare believe that this certification will streamline the deployment processes for CSPs, enabling them to leverage the full potential of 5G networks. This collaborative approach aims to ensure that the deployment of 5G services is efficient and meets the high-performance standards required for modern communications.
Enea is a known entity in the telecom software spectrum. The company's products are reputed for creating network capacity, boosting download speeds, and offering fraud protection. Their dual-mode 5G-SE allows CSPs to comply with regulatory requirements and enhance service monetisation through a single service platform for 4G and 5G networks.
VMWare's Telco Cloud is focused on the software transformation of telecommunications networks, offering a cloud-native speed for telco services. Integrating Enea's 5G-SE into this ecosystem aims to improve the overall subscriber experience, whether on 4G or 5G paths.
