Siemens honours tech leaders at Realize LIVE Europe 2024

Thu, 13th Jun 2024

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced the award recipients for its Techcellence Awards at Realize LIVE Europe 2024, held in Munich this week. The ceremony, introduced earlier this year at Realize LIVE Americas, aims to honour companies and individuals making significant strides in digital transformation and sustainability. Winners receive VIP attendance passes for Realize LIVE Global 2025, scheduled to take place in Detroit next June.

Robert Jones, Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Customer Success at Siemens Digital Industries Software, expressed that the awards were created to spotlight remarkable contributions driving digital transformation and sustainability initiatives across Europe. The awards also acknowledge those championing the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio and pushing the boundaries of innovation within their organisations.

The Sustainability Impact award, focusing on exceptional commitment to sustainability via Siemens technologies, was presented to Blendhub. The firm has pioneered a "food-as-a-service" model that reduces the ecological footprint of food production using portable micro-factories powered by digital twin technology. This allows for local production of nutrient-dense food powders, ensuring both freshness and reduced environmental impact. Although Blendhub could not attend the ceremony, their dedication to sustainability, transparency, and high-quality standards was recognised.

Rolls-Royce secured the Digital Transformation award for fully integrating digital technologies with an eye towards becoming a sustainable digital enterprise. Utilising Siemens' solutions, the company aligns its technological initiatives with long-term objectives, improving design efficiency, enabling cost savings, and enhancing customer experience through a comprehensive digital twin approach. This strategy has facilitated faster product introductions, flexible manufacturing, and data-driven performance optimisation, leading to continuous innovation and excellence.

The Community Champion award was presented to Blas Molero Hidalgo from IBERISA, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to the Siemens Community. Molero Hidalgo has provided over 200 responses to user queries in Siemens forums this year, in addition to authoring insightful blogs and running a YouTube channel dedicated to Siemens CAE technology. As a long-standing beta tester, his feedback has significantly shaped Siemens products and benefited the global Siemens Community.

Johannes Hoelzle of MTU Aero Engines AG was awarded the Innovation Leader award for his forward-thinking and creative application of Siemens technologies to overcome specific industry challenges. Together with Lutz Seidenfaden, CIO of MTU Aero Engines AG, Hoelzle tailored the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment to meet the unique requirements of different roles and disciplines. Their innovative approach, utilising Siemens technologies such as Mendix, has led to improved user experience, reduced IT maintenance efforts, and automated processes.

The Techcellence Awards at Realize LIVE Americas were announced last month in Las Vegas, highlighting the ongoing global recognition of innovation and sustainability efforts within Siemens’ customer base.
